In roseola infantum, a disease seen in babies, a measleslike rash appears after the child has had a high temperature for two or three days, but there is no fever at the time of the rash.
Roseola infantum, also called exanthem subitum, infectious disease of early childhood marked by rapidly developing high fever (to 106° F) lasting about three days and then subsiding completely.
Roseola infantum is distinguished from measles by the height and duration of fever preceding the appearance of the rash.
