PARIS — Despite criticism from Roma support groups and leftist politicians, President François Hollande's Socialist government, following a policy adopted by his predecessor, Nicolas Sarkozy, is dismantling illegal travelers' camps and rounding up Roma from Eastern Europe for repatriation.
In addition to the study presentation, the Conference also included the presentation of outcomes of "Quality Education for Roma Children" and "Support Network for Roma Children REYN Croatia" projects financed by the EU Funds, which are being implemented by the POU "Korak po korak"("Step by Step") in cooperation with its partners.
The only thing he didn't like were the Roma matches: he supports their arch-rivals Lazio.
For example, according to various recent reports, a Roma child was violently attacked by 8 other children, and the teacher supported the non-Roma children [ 26].
We support Roma-led NGOs in their efforts to help Roma families claim their rights under the law.
We also promote early childhood services for young children with home visiting and parenting education to reach Roma families and we support targeted immunization campaigns to protect Roma children against vaccine-preventable diseases such as Polio.
ALL ROMA CHILDREN IN SCHOOL AND LEARNING "All Roma children in school and learning" is the goal of a new programme supported by UNICEF, the Bureau for Education Development and NGO Macedonian Civic Organization to further improve inclusion of Roma children in primary education.
In 2007-2008, UNICEF Moldova supported the survey carried out by the European Roma Rights Centre in close cooperation with the Union of Young Roma Tarna Romom'.
The Roma mapping most importantly revealed the fact that local solutions (supported by existing legislation) can be found if political will is present, and local authorities are adequately aware of their duties and obligations.
