Considering that formation of hybrids in the stressful environment of wine fermentations has been associated with improved strain robustness strains, it is expected that the sequencing and annotation of ISA1307 genome reported in this work may be used to inspire and guide novel biotechnological applications of this strain and Z. bailii species under otherwise restrictive process conditions.

For example, the robust strains which evolved under low MOI perhaps needed to maintain stability of the P3 protein as part of their inherent robustness, whereas this gene could have changed in the brittle strains because the high MOI environment itself (i.e., genetic complementation) provided the needed robustness.
This mechanism may similarly account for differences in robustness among strains of virus φ6, and could explain why robustness is linked with evolvability.
The greater degree of robustness of strain Fm17 is also evident from the data presented in Table 4.
The greater robustness of strain Fm17 is further exemplified when compared with the data published by Martin et al. using S. cerevisiae ATCC 96581 [ 41].
In addition to their outstanding electrical and optical properties, the mesh-type geometries of mNWs also present superb mechanical robustness under external strains, such as bending strain (approximately 1%) [20-26] [20-26]tching strain (approrimately 50%) [22,27].
To detect differences in the robustness of disruption strains to environmental stress we measured the growth rate of each strain in each of fifteen stressful environments (Materials and Methods) (figure 2).
Second, the observed differences in LA strain values nevertheless underscore the robustness of LA strain for five beat measurements of strain values in patients with AF.
Even though this process is highly optimized there is still interest to improve the productivity, the robustness of the strains and the product yield (van Maris et al. [2006]; Hahn-Hagerdal et al. [2007]).
Traditionally, adaptive laboratory evolution has been implemented to improve robustness of industrial strains under diverse operational conditions; however due to the required coupling between growth and survival, its application for increased production of secondary metabolites generally results in decreased production due to the metabolic burden imposed by, or toxicity of, the produced compound.
While the technological attributes of dairy starter cultures are essential to achieve the desired flavours and characteristics in the final product, the phage robustness of these strains is also an important consideration.
