The tomato MADS box TF RIN, one of the earliest acting ripening regulators, is required for both ethylene-dependent and ethylene-independent ripening regulatory pathways.
If cervical ripening using a prostaglandin is required, a pre-labour overnight hospitalisation and separation from family and support companions is necessary.
