In an announcement on both RIM's development blog and TinyHippos blog, the BlackBerry manufacturer said that it bought the Waterloo-based development team (RIM is also based in Waterloo) for their extensive experience in web and mobile widget/web development.
He said if RIM subsidized development costs of his game for BlackBerry, his company would offer its game to the new software system.
"RIM's development teams are relentlessly focussed on ensuring the quality and reliability of the platform and I will not compromise the product by delivering it before it is ready," said CEO Thorstein Heins.
