The outcome measures were the rates of implant revision or removal within five years and the rates of periprosthetic infection, thromboembolic events, myocardial infarction, and all-cause mortality within one year.
In cases of revision or death within the first year, WOOS score was registered as missing.

[ 52] identified postoperative complications of total hip and knee replacement in patients who also had bariatric surgery by searching for medical complications, such as myocardial infarction, occurring within 30 days of surgery, deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism within 90 days, hip revisions within 12 months, or dislocations within 18 months.
All interventions with codes indicating removal or revision of hip implants were excluded from the database, except when such removals or revisions occurred within 3 months after the index operation, as they may have indicated a complication.
