Bazaarvoice, a US-based online ratings and reviews provider, has secured funding (amount undisclosed) from venture capital firm European Founders to expand in the UK and Europe in 2008.
But while Groupon is more of a standalone deals entity, Google ties Offers into its other services, including its business listing and reviews provider Google Places, Android (via the Google Shopper mobile app) and even Google Wallet, which enables Google to track the entire cycle surrounding customer behavior, from discovery to redemption to checkout.
There were three main categories of study outcomes amongst the reviews: provider-related outcomes, patient/client-related outcomes and outcomes related to health service access and utilization.
So, in May of last year, Patel teamed up with long-time friend Neal Reiter to launch HealthSouk in beta — an online marketplace that allows patients to shop for services and review provider ratings, and gives dentists the opportunity to advertise their service, skills and available appointments.
Additional items from the other sources: literature review, provider panel and caregiver observations were also considered for inclusion at this point.
The bill would require that the new commission review providers that fail to meet the spending limits, and it would allow the attorney general to investigate those whose prices are "materially higher" than others'.
For now, reviews are sourced from Walmart itself, but further down the road, Polaris may pull in reviews from external properties through partnerships with review providers.
