Retailers today have the opportunity to pioneer a new landscape: a highly personal, customer-centric retail world deeply rooted in technology.
The company is testing a program called "Consumer Centric Retailing" that is meant to improve its front-end results.

It will be the first weed-centric retail location in a hotel in this country.
For instance, if your business is a geo-centric retail location, you can pretty much filter out the traffic that is outside of your region; it just isn't going to be all that relevant.
"There are producer-centric models, retail-oriented models, for-profits, nonprofits, co-ops: a variety of types," said Marty Gerencer, who oversees the partnership for the Wallace Center.
In the late '90s, Walentas and his father were able to persuade the city to jettison these old rules and allow them to completely remake the neighborhood, filling old factories with loft apartments, design-and-tech-centric offices, retail stores, artists' studios and new condo towers.
In a statement, Sears's chief executive, Edward S. Lampert, emphasized that the company was trying to shift from a standard retail model to a "member-centric" enterprise, focusing heavily on the loyalty program called Shop Your Way.
Retail has always been product-centric.
