Checkout abandonment is one of the biggest problems faced by online retailers, with retail expert Listrak putting the rate for the last six months of 2014 at 74%.

The warning was issued at the launch of the Future High Streets Forum, in which Local Growth Minister Mark Prisk will meet businesses, council leaders and retailers which have trialled ideas from retail expert Mary Portas.
The holiday sales numbers signal a sense of stability in the retail industry — but possibly at the expense of retailers' profitability, said Laura Gurski, a partner and retail expert at consulting firm A.T. Kearney.
"Brick-and-mortar retailers have a major problem," said Ron Friedman, a retail expert at advisory and accounting firm Marcum in Los Angeles.
One retail expert said she might leave the company.
"Are they buying, or renting?" Paco Underhill, the retail expert, asked, when I described this practice.
However, the retail expert Richard Hyman said in his blog: "This is not a turnaround.
"The truth is, you can make regeneration happen," the retail expert says.
These schemes, named for Mary Portas, retail "expert" and star of Queen of Shops, are a failure.
