The findings are similar to Goodman et al. [ 6], with respect to reports of greater demands in adolescents in functional areas such as academic and social settings.
Although several studies have found that EMA and recall methods produce comparable results with respect to reports of alcohol use and problems (Hufford et al. 2002; Simons et al. 2010; Wray et al. 2010), other work suggests that retrospective measures may underestimate drinking (Carney et al. 1998; Litt et al. 2000; Todd et al. 2005).
There were, however, no statistically significant differences between the ICU group and the non-ICU group of patients with respect to reporting of traumatic memories (nightmares: χ2 = 5.84, P = 0.12; fear or panic attacks: χ2 = 6.9, P = 0.075; pain: χ2 = 1.01, P = 0.80; and difficulty breathing: χ2 = 5.3, P = 0.15).
There are several limitations to the study which have to be considered, especially because of possible recall bias with respect to report of hand-washing behavior among cases and controls, although the questionnaires were completed within few days from consultation.

In respect of this report, the microarray data indicated a significant downregulation of Dpp4 also called Cd26 (6.2×), upregulation of Cxcl12 (3.4×) but no change in the transcripts of Cxcr4.
Blinding of the study was considered, acknowledging that this would be preferable scientifically, particularly in respect of patient reported outcomes.
