Where the location of key resource areas could not be confirmed in the field due to logistical difficulties (i.e. remote inaccessible locations), the approximate position was estimated using natural resource mapping exercises aided by a printed Landsat TM satellite image (Theis and Grady 1991).
In April and May in Madagascar, young people conducted community natural resource mapping exercises, identifying how water, waste and energy are being used and identifying solutions that they could implement in their communities.
