The company has just closed a $1.5 million round led by Resolute Ventures, with participation from High Peaks Venture Partners, Mark Gerson of the Gerson Lehrman Group, New England Patriots' Adrian Wilson, and others.
In the meantime, to support its mission in Japan and acquire the fuel it needs for launch and its first months in its new home, OKpanda has raised $1.4 million in a round led by Resolute Ventures, with participation from firms like Innovation Endeavors, Kapor Capital and 500 Startups.
According to Harris, the new round was led by Mike Hirschland at Resolute.VC and includes participation from Tutorspree's existing investors, and will actually bring the startup's total capital to around $1.8 million.
The Series A round was led by new investors Hummer Winblad and Relay Ventures, with participation from existing backers Lightspeed Venture Partners, New Enterprise Associates, Illuminate Ventures, Resolute.VC and Common Angels, as well as several individual angels.
Mike Hirshland from Resolute.vc and Rob Go from NextView Ventures are co-leading the round with participation from Lerer Ventures, SV Angel, BoxGroup, 500 Startups and John Maloney from Terrapinbale.
The Series B was led by Georgian Partners, with participation from OurCrowd, DoCoMo Capital, BDC Capital IT Venture Fund, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Illuminate Ventures, Resolute Ventures, Relay Ventures, CommonAngels Ventures and First Round Capital.
