USGS21 contains 21 classes: agricultural, airplane, baseball diamond, beach, buildings, chaparral, dense residential, forest, freeway, golf course, harbor, intersection, medium density residential, mobile home park, overpass, parking lot, river, runway, sparse residential, storage tanks, and tennis courts, as shown in Fig. 4.
Whon et al. (2012) investigated viral diversity in the near-surface atmosphere over three distinct land locations (residential, forest, and industrial), and showed the presence of diverse airborne viruses including those that infect plants and animals.
There were significant, positive associations between same-day PM2.5 (PM with aero-dynamic diameter ≤ 2.5 μm) concentrations attributed to mobile sources (RR range, 1.018 1.025) and biomass combustion, primarily prescribed forest burning and residential wood combustion, (RR range, 1.024 1.033) source categories and CVD-related ED visits.
Of that, 73%% was attributed to dust from agriculture, construction, and transportation; 9 % to residential wood burning; 6 % to forest fires; and only 6%% to industrial activities (of which the NPRI captures only those above the reporting thresholds).
A spatial quantitative assessment is used to rank sub-factors for evaluating suitability for agricultural, residential and forest operations.
Specifically, soils of Hardwood Swamp, Cypress Swamp, and Mixed Urban consisted of both residential Wetland Forest contained 9.8, 9.5, and 7.8 g C m− 2.
To quantify the amount of rainfall interception by vegetation in a residential urban forest we measured throughfall in Raleigh, NC, USA between July and November 2010.
