"Not everything will be the right fit for a 60-seat theater whose audiences are a little intoxicated," Mr. Hillis of reRun said.
Lately "there hasn't been a big procedural drama" on network television like "CSI," "NCIS" or "Law & Order: SVU" that has done well in reruns, said Peter Rice, the Fox Networks Group's chairman of entertainment.
Also, two companies involved in the syndication of the "Law and Order" reruns said late yesterday that contrary to a report this week in the trade publication Advertising Age -- which was confirmed by two other parties to the agreement -- they had not authorized the placements of the virtual ads, potentially clouding the deal.
"Let's assume that it's a rerun," he said.
"Party members, including me, are sick and tired of the old battles of the past being rerun," he said.
"Come over and we can watch some Perry Mason reruns," she said.
SiriusXM is working with "Car Talk" to repackage the episodes, which will be separate from the NPR reruns, Mr. Coleman said.
"It's a great franchise, but we are concerned about reruns," Filippelli said.
Renegade 83 recently sold the first three seasons of "Blind Date" to Spike TV, but no one will receive a residual check for reruns, Mr. Renfroe said.
"Those rights" to the "Law and Order" reruns, he said, "are held mutually by Studios USA and Wolf Films; as far as I know, the rights have not been granted to any third party".
