Overall, our findings are consistent with the idea that any effect of oxidative stress on tumour progression in the MMTV-PyMT model would require stress levels, which are not inducible by the degrees of cyclic hypoxia or MDA exposures used in this study, and emphasize the importance of the lesion type, location and context in addition to their number.
