Wednesday, Gov. John Hickenlooper sent another round of letters to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack requesting disaster assistance for eight additional counties in southeast Colorado in the middle of a severe drought, according to a press release from the Governor.
Gov. George E. Pataki has requested federal disaster aid for farmers in more than 30 counties.
Gov. Roy E. Barnes declared a state of emergency in those counties and Tift County, which is northeast of Colquitt, and requested federal disaster assistance.
Gov. David Ige (D) requested the disaster declaration on Wednesday.
Cornyn's another one of the upstanding Republicans who voted against Sandy aid after requesting federal disaster aid for their own states.
