The histologic index (by Riley) ranges from 1 representing remission to 4 representing severe colitis; a central pathologist, who was blinded to the groups, assessed the score.
The rsT2DM group had a significant (p < 0.05, paired t-test) decrease in mean fasting plasma glucose and HbA1c levels, representing remission of T2DM.
