We split the KPR into five regions shown in Fig. 1 and describe in detail representative profiles for each region.
Most geochemical studies of laterite formation have been based on detailed examinations of a small number of hopefully "representative" profiles.
We studied two representative profiles at the Bering Island, the Commander Archipelago in the north of the Pacific Ocean.
Next we use a simple model to capture them on all features, and apply machine learning techniques to extract representative profiles from them.
