The list of countries may underestimate the influence of the UNCITRAL Model Law, as countries are not obligated to report adoption or use of the Model Law to the UN.
The report "Adoption from Viet Nam: findings and recommendations of an assessment" is the result of an independent assessment commissioned by UNICEF Viet Nam and the Department of Adoption of the Ministry of Justice of Viet Nam in 2009.
Women in groups with external sponsorship had greater HIV incidence and were less likely to report adoption of safer behaviour than women in other groups, but these differences were not statistically significant (Table 2).
