Indeed, Twitter challenges in its very structure previous assumptions of hierarchical, vertical communication, and does facilitate and encourage interactions (@ replies, mentions, direct messages) between strangers that defy notions of proximity, intimacy, closeness and even politeness.

Three of these are "replies", "mentions" and "retweets".
In this analysis, we investigate the tweet traffic of people's tweets, retweets, replies, mentions, and hashtags on specific topics leading to particular position of pinpoints concerning those topics.
Interact with them: respond to their tweets by hitting "reply," mention the articles they share, show that you like a tweet by hitting the "favorite" button.
From there, they can search tweets by keywords, hashtags, users, reply, mention and location.
On Twitter, there are various interactional relationships between users and tweets such as post, reply, mention and retweet, depicted in Fig 5. We profit from these relationships in order to measure tweet influence score and select context candidate tweets.
