Existing measures from the Alberta Hip and Knee Replacement Measurement Framework for measuring quality of care for hip and knee arthroplasty [ 27 – 29 ] were considered for inclusion in the harmonized set.
For the project described by Wujek, the initial, pre-replacement measurements of lead in water were made close to the time when chloramine was in the water, and lead levels were high.
Investigators apply various strategies for measurement data with DLs, including replacement of measurements below a DL with a single value, for example, DL, DL/2, or DL/√2 (Helsel 1990; Hornung and Reed 1990).
If subjects are known to have ascites, a pleural effusion or a renal replacement therapy, measurements will not be done.
