Tristan gave a remote talk to the Digital Journalism, Platforms, Professions and Coordination : OsloMet Digital Journalism Symposium on how to prototype news with a multi-disciplinary team.
For the purposes of the symposium, telerobotics was defined as the control of robots from a remote distance (more on that in a bit), while telepresence was defined as the process of projecting human senses (and even feelings) into a remote environment.
During the symposium we engaged a large number of participants, both local and remote, using the #FORsymp hashtag on twitter, and the @FORsymp twitter account, to leave comments and ask questions. Figure 3 shows examples of significant tweets and questions received during the symposium.
Additional featured topics discussed in the symposium and also in this special issue are instrumentation and methods for sample analysis, as well as remote sensing or ground-based observations for asteroids, comets, and meteors.
He noted the ideas, collaboration, and deep friendships that came out of the symposiums, and out of the culinary retreats, called Cook it Raw, that the boys' club takes to remote places, like Lapland, where they cook together, bond, and share ideas.
