This point has particular relevance for stroke care as the introduction of acute and hyper-acute stroke units and guidelines that recommend hospital admission at the first sign of stroke mean that this initial acute experience will be shared by almost all stroke survivors.
We used 12-month-old mice in this study to enhance the clinical relevance, as stroke is most common in older adults.
Differential protein-protein interaction networks (PPINs) were constructed at 3 post-stroke time points, and proteins with a significant stroke relevance value (SRV) were discovered.

6. Relevance is relevant.
In this research, we utilize the discrete curvelet transformation to extract features on multiple scales and show its relevance for detection of ischemic stroke.
