Most of the best-known partnerships — Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum on X-Men, Marv Wolfman and George Pérez on New Teen Titans, Don McGregor and Billy Graham on Black Panther — tend to have been fortuitous, informal, and relatively short-lived.
