Novel imaging methods with high sensitivity, specificity, and resolution at tumor-relative imaging depth are urgently needed for accurate diagnosis of glioma, based on which precise tumor surgery can be performed to achieve complete tumor removal and improve the prognosis of the patients [5, 6].
The relative image offsets caused by transverse chromatic aberrations (TCA) are primarily due to misalignment of the imaging beam relative to the eye's achromatic axis, along which TCA is zero by definition (see Fig. 1).
Functional tests seem to be better predictors of prognosis relative to imaging [35].
MFR, has clinical utility in the detection of dypiridamole non-responders and subclinical microvascular dysfunction that may be missed with traditional relative perfusion imaging [ 50].
Relative to molecular imaging biomarkers, which are target-specific, functional imaging biomarkers have the advantage of being downstream markers that probe general capabilities of disease, including cell death, proliferation, glycolysis, hypoxia, tumor invasiveness, angiogenesis, inflammation and fibrosis.
In these publications, a number of issues were identified that are unique to IR and required adaptation of the universal protocol, including, among others, the positioning of the patient relative to the imaging field and the use of intraprocedural imaging to determine the site of the procedure.
Baron Rayleigh, a leading figure of late 19th-century physics, showed that the images of two point sources are resolvable only if their angular separation, relative to an imaging element of diameter D, is greater than about 1.2λ/D ("Rayleigh's criterion").
Nonetheless, tumor shrinkage bears the potential to further underestimate tumor volumes on imaging relative to pathology.
