In this work, we generalise the relationship between ray aberration and wave aberration for a biaxial imaging system that includes holographic optical elements (HOEs); both for conjugate planes perpendicular to optical axis or parallel to lens plane.
Figure 7b shows the relationship of rays between two planes, which is a number of rays through plane u will converge to a point in plane s. Figure 7c shows the Fourier slice in frequency domain, which coincides with k s axis.

Plausibly, these discrepancies could also stem from different relationships between ray and axial parenchyma.
