Heat shock proteins are encoded by a family of highly conserved genes and function as molecular chaperones in protein biosynthesis to facilitate protein folding, assembly, secretion, regulation, degradation and translocation.
Sixty-nine of them could be referred to "expression regulation" types and 13 as "co-expression" (shown in red); eight comprised "down regulation", "degradation regulation", and "degradation downregulation" (shown in violet).
We believe that these two mechanisms work independently because we saw only a marginal delay in spindle formation either in the mts3.1 proteasome mutant, hrs1.T14A stabilized mutant, or in the hrs1.FA6 nonphosphorylatable mutant, presumably because, when one of either regulation (degradation or phosphorylation) is missing, the remaining regulation still turns off the Hrs1 function.
In canonical Hippo signalling MST1/2 activated LATS1/2 phosphorylate YAP/TAZ on Ser127/89 and Ser381/311, respectively, thereby controlling YAP/TAZ on two levels: (1) Ser127/89-mediated spatial regulation (nuclear-cytoplasmic shuttling) and (2) Ser381/311-mediated phospho-degron mediated temporal regulation (degradation) (see Tables 2 and 3).

Thus, for example, it is well established that prolonged exposure to cholinergic agonists is associated with the internalization and, ultimately, down-regulation (degradation and/or reduced synthesis) of muscarinic receptors, which seem to be the major mediators of cholinergic-driven network desynchronization [ 16, 18, 57, 62] (in particular M1 receptors [ 65, 83]).
We also show that regulation of protein degradation contributes more noise than regulated degradation of mRNA.

The conventional thinking is that this is achieved through transcriptional programs, translational regulation, protein degradation, and post-translational modifications.
It has been shown that RNA G-quadruplexes have been recognized and bound by specific proteins and implicated in a wide range of biological processes including alternative splicing, RNA transport, translation regulation, RNA degradation and telomere stability12,13,14.
Protein phosphorylation is a well recognized mechanism for regulation of degradation by the proteasome [25], [28], [29].
Although the Ub-proteasome system (UPS) is known to be involved in a number of cellular processes, the role of E3s in the regulation and degradation of mitochondrial proteins and in mitochondrial biology is only beginning to emerge.
