Although the accuracy of coding of the Vital Statistics Registry of the province of Nova Scotia has not been published, the Canadian registries, when compared to other vital statistics registries, have been reported to have 100% completeness, and a low rate of coding to ill-defined causes of death (7%)[ 29].
This may cause differences in survival of up to a factor 3 between individual departments and individual implants, and even between national registries when comparing the survival rates of the same implant.
