Using semantic formulas as units of analysis, EFL refusal responses were compared with similar data elicited from native speakers of English responding in English and native speakers of Arabic responding in Arabic.

Most studies did not explore reasons for refusal, non-response, or inability to contact patients.
Non-participation most commonly occurred via passive refusal (non-response to study mailings or telephone contact by the study coordinator prior to the scheduled clinic visit); only 5 individuals actively declined participation.
What does this remarkable response refusal tell us?
The Adolescent Responses to Alcohol and Drug Offers Scale (ARADOS) is a self-report questionnaire designed to assess a respondent's anticipated emotional reactions and intended use of cognitive-behavioral refusal skills in response to an offer of alcohol or other drug.
Early response (refusal or consent) was associated with age, education, marital status, race/ethnicity, service branch, Reserve/National Guard duty status, and history of past deployment to southwest Asia, Bosnia, or Kosovo.
Firstly, concerning the population, data collection and definition of non-compliance, we cannot exclude a population selection bias since a proportion of women were not included (refusal or non response) and we included probably more patients from hospitals with high volumes (but regional data are available for comparison concerning all stages of cancer, metastatic and non-metastatic BC).
