This post is based on my experience co-leading the curriculum at the International Development Design Summit IDDSS) Kenya on Financial Inclusion, conversations with organizers, participants, and community partners throughout our journey, and includes personal reflections on project development and continuity potential.
On the other, the project's backstage did not sufficiently facilitate reflection on the project to develop feelers for influencing factors from the project's organizational environment.
Upon completion of the DNP final project the student engages in thoughtful reflection focused on project execution in order to support ongoing professional development and identify institution-wide opportunities for ongoing performance improvement.
It should be noted that, in line with previous field process articles of this nature [ 7, 8], this paper is a retrospective documentation of, and reflection on, a project fieldwork experience, on the part of the project management team (the authors are project managers or Principal Investigators (PIs)).
Although modern communication tools support a host of sophisticated interactions, reflection on the project suggests that the in-person meetings, during which the ETSU students transferred the project to the BME students, were crucial to allowing the BME students to reinterpret the project in a context more familiar to them.
This framework (see Figure S2 in Supplementary Information) encouraged a grounded, critical reflection on each project.
For the deeper analysis, we selected notes that were related to 1) analysis of the neighborhood, 2) constructing design context, and 3) reflection on the project –notes, which we took to represent participants' "learning outcome".
