The most frequently studied PSDs were related to eight areas: emotional problems, reduced vitality and fatigue, pain, difficulties at work, reduced physical and reduced mental health, poor social functioning and increased global disability.
Key processes responsible for these transitions are strong deposition of iron oxyhydroxides, incomplete decay of leaves and wood, and reduced vitality of riparian trees.
In total, 34 difficulties have been collected from 51 papers: the most frequent were reduced vitality and fatigue, emotional problems, pain, difficulties at work, general physical and mental health, social functioning and global disability.
