In seismic data, it displays aggradation, starting at ∼ 15 cal kyr BP, followed by progradation initiated during the first phase of the Younger Dryas, a period of reduced sea-level rise or stillstand.
This will reduce projected sea level rise by as much as 30percentt.
An outflow of seawater at these stations occurs immediately after the coseismic deformation, which gradually reduces the sea level above TM1 and TM2 with increasing time.

On the West Coast, the Pacific plate is sliding under the North American plate, pushing it up slightly, reducing the relative sea level rise somewhat.
Even if emissions of carbon dioxide and the other gases are sharply reduced, it said, "sea level will continue to rise due to thermal expansion for hundreds of years".
The sedimentary environment shifted from weakly oxidizing to weak alkaline, weakly reducing conditions as sea level increased, and Fe-rich minerals as authigenic chlorite and glauconite began to form and deposit.
Downcutting and canyon widening continue today as the process of erosion continues to try to reduce the topography to sea level.
