One option to improve image quality for isotopes emitting high-energy gamma radiation besides positrons may be the use of a narrower energy window, which reduces random coincidence rates involving higher-energy photons, such as the 603-keV photon emitted by I [ 7, 30] (Figs. 10 and 11).
