The Fear of Recurrence Index was developed to test the relation between type of surgery and fear of recurrence.
For each chromosome, a recurrence index (RI) was defined as the ratio of the number of affected cell lines and the total number of tested cell lines.
This shows that the meta-signature can serve as a common breast cancer recurrence index that is able to predict patient survival in heterogeneous sample populations.
