For calculating the engraving pattern (Fig. 7a), a rectangle was generated with the pattern's area - the width and length of the rectangle were determined based on the averages of the covering surface edge lengths.
Give each rectangle an area of 1, and give the rectangles the following lengths: a, b, c, d, e, f; label the widths 1/a, a/b, etc.
