In contrast, the birth certificate agreed for paternal occupation in only 63% of the records in the present study (with the missing cases included) in which we also included the first trimester as part of the exposure window.
The prevalence of FDM during the years 2000 2004 based on the results of the hospital records in the present study was 21 per 10,000 cats.
The positive predictive value (88%) of the MBR against medical records in the present study was similar to what was reported previously for the MBRN in 1998 899%, validated against medical records) before changes were introduced to the MBRN form (Stene et al. 2007).
This sample was also planned for recording SD (main objective of the present study), considering that the expected point prevalence of SD was 6-96-9%
Most of antimicrobials recorded in the present study are considered as critically important (amoxicilin, neomycin, fluoroquinolones, erythromycin, colistin) or highly important (sulfamerazine, sulfadimidin, sulfadimethoxine, sulfadiazine, doxycycline, oxytetracycline, tetracycline) for humans by the World Health Organization (WHO 2012).
It is likely that the higher percentage of reactivity recorded in the present study reflects the different methodology employed, because Akbarali et al. used peptide-coated pins, whereas we used BSA-conjugated peptide adsorbed onto microtiter plate wells.
ES has been reported to have a high rate of distant metastasis ranging from 40 to 57 %. 12, 15– 18, 21 The rate of 73%% recorded in the present study is higher than in previous reports; however, this could have been because a substantial number of cases in our series were either at a high tumor stage (N1 or M1 tumors, 39%%) or were recurrent cases (43 %) at initial presentation.
A total of 482 (458 identified, 24 unidentified) plants were recorded in the present study, of which 153 are non-woody herbs and grasses (145 identified) belonging to 55 families, and 329 are woody trees and shrubs (313 identified) belonging to 74 families.
The prevalence of camel TB recorded by the present study is similar to the report of previous study in the Afar Region of Ethiopia based on comparative intradermal tuberculin test in camels [23] but it is higher than the report from Dire Dewa Abattoir in camels from eastern Ethiopia [12].
Notably the μmax value of strain TMB3400 recorded in the present study on xylose in the presence of pretreatment liquor was comparable to data published by Wahlbom et al. [ 10] for that strain in aerobic bioreactor cultures without pretreatment inhibitors.
