There is several existing research work on enhancing the ICAP architecture in order to accelerate the reconfiguration flow [16, 18, 25, 27].
To put this in perspective, before the reconfiguration 30 London hospitals provided acute stroke care.
A custom micro-kernel that is dedicated to partial reconfiguration [1] is used to schedule and share resources among processes.
Meanwhile, evolutionary programming had been explored in load restoration [15] and network reconfiguration [16, 17].
MultiBoot [19] is a reconfiguration method that allows full bitstream reconfiguration, whereas partial reconfiguration [52] allows partial bitstream reconfiguration.
Despite extensive research in dynamic software reconfiguration [8 11], safe reconfiguration is still an open problem [2, 12 14].

For the dynamic dependency management (Fig. 16), the throughput varied from 15,060 tuples/s to 15,030 tuples/s at reconfiguration T1 and from 15,073 tuples/s to 15,043 tuples/s at reconfiguration T2.
The throughput for the static dependency management (in Fig. 15) had a minor increase at the reconfiguration time T (i.e., the moment in which the reconfiguration was performed) when compared with T – 1 (i.e., one second before the reconfiguration), from 14,795 tuples/s to 15,019 tuples/s at reconfiguration T1 and from 14,869 tuples/s to 14,924 tuples/s at reconfiguration T2.
Internal Configuration Access Port (ICAP) is the fundamental module used to perform in-circuit reconfiguration [10, 55].
As mentioned in Section 3.2.1, the bus macros are obsolete with the current PlanAhead tools for partial reconfiguration [53].
