Of the four techniques tested, the beach sand cleaner and the rotary cultivator are thus the most recommendable methods to reactivate drift-sand stabilised by grey hair grass and algae crusts.
The published evidence-base is equally poor when it comes to defining what constitutes an effective and efficient outbreak response: remarkably, there are no proven methods recommendable for epidemic vector control [ 5, 6] or for clinical-health systems management when there is a surge in cases.
To check the outcome it is recommendable to apply the method with a number of different nominal points and compare the outcomes.
