The purpose of the present study was to extend the existing literature in this area by examining the reciprocal relationships between reflection and rumination.
Based on the rhombohedral reciprocal lattice, the 12 reflections were no longer superlattice but fundamental reflections, and the reciprocal vector of the one-dimensional incommensurate reflections was re-expressed as H=ha∗+kb∗+lc∗±17.24∗∗, where h, k, l are integers and (−h + k + l) = 3n.
The latter was based on the Ewald construction, still valid for position of diffuse zone, outside of direction of selective reflections in reciprocal space) [16], [25], [27] With the method of separation described above two sets of spectra were obtained: one was a line spectrum and the other ring spectrum or diffuse scattering spectra.
The X-ray diffraction patterns in this intermediate mesophase display a set of three small-angle reflections, with reciprocal spacings in the squared ratio 1 3 4, assigned to (10), (11), and (20) reflections of a bidimensional hexagonal lattice.
