In all cases, the diffusion-weighted readout-segmented echo planar imaging (rs-EPI) sequence was applied with identical measurement parameters: repetition time (TR) 6.3 s, echo time (TE) 73 ms, b-values 0 and 1000 mm/s, matrix 224 ∗224, FOV 230 mm, slice thickness 4 mm, slice gap 0.8 mm, 30 slices, number of segments of the segmented EPI-sequence 5, and diffusion gradient scheme: three-scan trace.
A new approach in the signal processing and readout of highly segmented silicon detector arrays is described.
The realization of this approach is Multiplexed Shaped Analog Electronics (MASE), an electronic system that allows the effective readout of highly segmented detector arrays when the occupancy in a single event is low.
As a key issue of such arrays is the processing of their signals, we report on the development of a non-ASIC system designed to simplify the analog processing and readout from a highly segmented silicon detector array.
T1 mapping was obtained by using a 2D sequence that employed two non-selective inversion pulses with inversion times ranging from 20 to 2000 ms, followed by eight segmented readouts for eight individual images [21].
In particular the TOF has to cover an area of ∼ 160m2 and has to be highly segmented (∼ 160000 readout pads of 2.5 × 3.7 cm2 active area) in order to keep the occupancy in Pb-Pb collisions below the 15%% level.
This means that the analog readouts are amplified differently between segments of pixels on the sensor.
The color screen was a clever trick and the readouts were actually black LCD segments like you'd find on a pocket calculator.
This Look Locker gradient echo (GRE) pulse sequence (slice thickness 10 mm, average TR/TE 3.6/1.7 ms, multishot (3 profiles/shot) segmented full echo readout every heartbeat, flip angle 8°, FOV 370 mm, resolution 256 × 256, 39 phases, phase interval 15 ms) was applied at the short axis level with the most pronounced wall motion abnormalities.
Four k-space segments were acquired using a segmented readout sequence called TRICKS [18].
