Together with our process for the conversion of fructose to HMF as a sole product, reaching a yield that exceeds the best performance of all systems reported in the literature and even surpassing their performance in corresponding desired solvent media, this strategy thereby affords an attractive route for highly efficient transformation of biomass to a versatile platform compound.
This changed after the NGO Africare, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, obtained very good results in 2007 testing SRI with one farmer (reaching a yield of 9 t/ha with SRI compared to 6.7 t/ha with conventional rice) and the farming community requested further testing.
The punch press is a further classical example of impact noise: the force is built up in the punch relatively slowly, and the whole machine is strained until the load on the material being punched reaches a yield and shortly afterwards a fracture level.
Flexural yielding and shear yielding are defined as the point when the strain of the reinforcing bars reaches a yield strain (=0.002).
When impregnating the alumina with MgO (A3, A4 and A5), the BD production reaches a yield of 84.3% (catalyst A3 shown in Fig. 6).
The overexpression of the modified pfkA in the CAD strain also had a strong effect on the citrate yield: levels up to 35% were achieved while the CAD strain only reached a yield of about 2%.

The results showed that the sublancin 168 production reached a yield plateau during the fifth step (Table 4).
The ∆ pfkA mutant showed a similar MHB production rate, but reached a yield of 4.8 molMHB molglucose−1, approaching the maximal value of 6 molNADPH molglucose−1 expected for a partially cyclized PPP.
Although grafting of tributyl citrate on maleated PLA permitted reaching a yield stress of about 7 MPa, after 6 months of aging, dynamic mechanical thermal analysis evidenced an increase of Tg and signs of phase separation in this blend [ 20].
