We assessed the growth performances of juvenile animals of the two species at different water velocities (0 and 1.5 body length per second [bl/s]) and ration levels (repletion- and medium-rations).
In the first experiment fish were pair-fed either a low (7%) lipid diet at one of six ration levels (satiation, or 88%, 76%, 64%, 52 %, 40 of satiation) or a commercial feed (22% lipid) at the 64% level.
In the first growth experiment the test ingredients were included at equal concentrations (40%) in protein-limiting diets (350 g protein/kg DM) and fed at either of two ration levels (restricted and satiety).
These findings indicate that although T. albonubes had higher growth rates with adequate food supply, G. affinis had higher feeding rates and was more adaptable to water currents and lower ration levels.
The country, therefore, urgently needs programme food aid or balance of payments support for commercial imports of 978 000 tons of cereals, if the Government is to maintain minimum ration levels, until the next harvest in October.
We intend to address several challenges that arise when studying citizens' views on rationing by (a) using a method that allows for reflection, (b) using the respondents' nomination of decision makers, and (c) clearly identifying the rationing level.
b) To identify the threshold score of rationing by comparing the level of patient satisfaction factors across rationing levels.
