Our rate of trainees' consultations including chronic disease (29.5%) cannot be directly compared with the only other contemporary finding, that of de Jong et al. (8.7% in first year trainees and 10.8% in third year trainees) [ 20] as the chronic disease classification systems employed in the two studies are different.
How many investigations should be surveyed within a study measuring adenoma detection rates of trainee colonoscopists?
The faculty champions were successful in training their colleagues and community members, substantially exceeding the goal of 280 trainees, with a rate of 55.7 trainees per faculty champion or a total rate of 5.6 over the expected 280 trainees.
The percentage of trainees rating other topics as useful were as follows: clinical skills related to smoking cessation (30%), the trans-theoretical model (11%), the risks of smoking and the benefits of quitting (7%), the case discussion (5%), the strategy of tobacco control (5%) and nicotine addiction and withdrawal (4%).
