This likely introduced confounding to our pooled analysis, since crude outcomes, rather than adjusted odds ratios were reported for most trials.
We used height and weight as nutritional outcomes, rather than adjusted height and weight by age and gender, such as HAZ and WAZ as they are less straightforward to interpret [ 24].
