Britain risks a real divergence between the base rate and the real short and long-term rates of interest levied on private sector debt.
At present, the online firms Bet365 – which recently moved its operation offshore – and 32Red voluntarily contribute 10.75% of gross profits, the current rate of the Levy, on their British business and will qualify for Authorised Betting Partner status from 1 January 2016.
He said the party would consult on the rate of the levy and how it will be implemented.
