Columbia University political scientist Lorraine C. Minnite, tracked incidence rates for voter fraud for two years in a recent study, and found that the rare fraud that was reported generally could be traced to "false claims by the loser of a close race, mischief and administrative or voter error".
The average rate of fraud online is around 1%.
Protection: A separate analysis found that "compared to non-lobbying firms, firms that lobby, on average, have a significantly lower hazard rate of being detected for fraud, evade fraud detection 117 days longer, and are 38% less likely to be detected by regulators".
