These rankings of the stimuli are consistent between the psychophysical experiment and the simulations.
The galaxy hierarchy consisted of eight items (i.e., A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H, where A is the highest ranking item and H the lowest ranking; see Appendix for example stimuli, though color stimuli were used in the experiment).
In experiment 1, high-ranking individuals began their consumption closer to the stimulus when it was a face image, whereas low-ranking individuals began further away from a face than a control image, at least for some stimulus sizes.
Assignment of subjective emotionality scores was not as accurate as the novel stimulus or isolation tests in ranking horses for reactivity.
