The presented vulnerability analysis platform using both exhaustive and random fault emulation approaches, provides useful information for identifying areas threatening reliability to make processors more fault tolerant.
In fact, comparing the results obtained from the proposed approach to those obtained at TRIUMF gives an absolute relative error of 3.1 and 14%, respectively, for the first and the second setups, while estimating the error between the latter and results from a conventional random fault injection provides error values of up to 75%.
Last, we perform tests with random fault processes.
In this work, a distributed random fault simulator has been developed to generate massive samples [31].
Random fault refers to stochastic three-phase short circuits on any transmission lines.

At the hardware level, we have experimented that compositional multi-formalism modeling approaches well suit the evaluation of system safety and reliability against random faults.
Secondly, considering reliability of fault-tolerance to random faults and of intrusion-tolerance to selectively remove attacks, synchronization capability and diffusion properties of networks, we present an iterative method (algorithm) for computing the total number of spanning trees.
Secondly, we show how the design model can be modularly extended with fault models that represent random faults (e.g. radiation) leading to bit flips in the component under design (resembling FMEA), and transient or permanent faults in the rest of the environment (corrupting inputs to the component or jeopardising the effect of output signals that control the environment).
