"random alternation" is a correct and usable phrase in written English
You can use it to refer to a situation in which something changes or alternates at irregular intervals without a discernible pattern. For example, "The criminal's behavior followed a pattern of random alternation between assault and theft."
An additional alternative to classical antibiotic cycling, which has not been explored in clinics, is the idea of alternating antibiotics in a noncyclic way by applying a random alternation schedule.
