If the proposed diagnostic approach will prove successful a targeted radio-ablation of galectin-3 expressing tumors might also be explored by using galectin-3 specific mAbs conjugated to different radio compounds (i.e. 186Re, 177Lu or 90Y, 64Cu, 67Cu).
